I Am the Butterfly is made with acrylic paint on a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" ceramic tile.  The background was done as a "swipe" of white over various shades of blue.  The background paint was mixed to show some thickness and texture to better represent the billow of clouds on an overcast day.  The butterfly itself was "straw blown" and then detailed with a fine-tipped brush.  The piece is sealed with resin and mounted in a shadow box frame that has been painted in black and edged with metallic teal.  The frame is suitable for display on a flat surface or can be hung on the wall.
 
Shadow box frame is 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and is 1 1/8" deep.
